Letter of Resignation from Ashley Pearson

July 2025

 Dear Dr. Dockery, Superintendent Schmerer, and Members of the Bandon School Board, 

It is with a heavy heart and deep disappointment that I formally resign from my position with the Bandon School District, effective immediately. 

I have dedicated myself fully to the students, programs, and school community in Bandon over the past eight years. I have invested countless hours in supporting student growth both in and beyond the classroom. Working at Bandon High School has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. I’ve been proud to serve our students and community with dedication and heart, and I am grateful for the relationships and growth this role has provided me with. 

However, the circumstances surrounding my involuntary transfer to the middle school have eroded any remaining trust I had in district leadership and placed me in a position where I can no longer envision a sustainable or fulfilling future teaching within the district. The administration has made it clear that my dedication, expertise, and work do not matter here. 

This decision to leave my teaching position is not one I make lightly. I care deeply about this district and the students we serve. I wish continued success to the educators and families of Bandon.
